In mid 2022, I joined The Arrive Platform through Artium to support this mission by enhancing their e-commerce reselling platform. Leveraging my experience and practices from Dev3loper.ai, I focused on extending and maintaining the .NET Core C# APIs, automating manual processes, and integrating with various external systems like Shopify. These efforts aimed to improve operational efficiency, ensure system robustness, and provide real-time data updates, thus enabling Arrive to serve its diverse clientele better and maintain a seamless user experience.
By collaborating closely with the existing team, particularly during a crucial transition period, I ensured knowledge continuity and helped pave the way for future innovations in their logistics management system.
Extending and Automating The Arrive Platform

I focused on extending and maintaining the .NET Core C# APIs that powered the e-commerce reselling platform during this engagement. Additionally, I automated numerous manual import jobs, ensuring continuity of service and enabling the engineering team to take real vacations without disrupting operations.

Team Dynamics
Our team comprised of two engineers from Artium, collaborating closely with The Arrive Platform's lead backend engineer and front-end development team. As the lead engineer was transitioning out, I took detailed notes and paired programming with him to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer. This collaborative approach ensured robust and seamless integration into The Arrive Platform's existing systems despite the sudden staff change.
Impact and Practices
A significant aspect of this project involved working closely with The Arrive Platform's lead engineer, who was transitioning out of the company. I paired with him extensively to capture detailed knowledge about the system and daily operations, creating scripts to run reports manually and eventually automating these processes using AWS Lambdas.
A key feature of our work was integrating and extending the delivery carrier APIs, which is crucial for maintaining the core business functionality of renting and purchasing resale goods. This required swift and efficient work to ensure continuous service without disruption.
We expanded the data model to support multiple warehouses and extended the functionality of their reporting and inventory management system. Additionally, I integrated the platform with the Shopify API, allowing for seamless partner onboarding and real-time inventory synchronization. Using serverless Node.js Lambda functions, we fetched client product information from Shopify, updated the local SQL Server database, and provided near real-time updates for the e-commerce system.
Moreover, I collaborated with the front-end developers to understand requirements and extend the GraphQL API, accommodating new features and enhancing the user experience.
